Degrassi: Next Gen, S4

Kevin Smith + his jorts needs to GO. The season 4 finale two-parter is peak Degrassi, tbh. Why does all the lit shit happen early-on? You have the Rickpocalypse, then immediately after that Craig is finally Bipolar, and then???? Absolute dumbassery for the next like ten or so episodes after that. Story goes super un-lit extra quick after all that Doing The Mostness from midseason. Very strange and terrible. Yes, I kno, let's end such a game-changing season with........a freakin C8lyn storyline and some d-grade Hollywood celebrity guest stars who r totally important to the show's worldbuilding and will definitely matter in the grand scheme of things!!! 

Lmao, but honestly me if I dated Marco, let's be real.

Dylan and Marco have the same hairstyle and they disgust me as a couple like just because they're the only gay characters doesn't mean they have to d8 and literally Dylan is unwatchable so Degrassi??

An even worser couple than Dylan and what'shishair. Paige, first of all, looks like someone's mom. And not anyone cool. Definitely a window-licker. Her storyline with Mr. O is peak-cringe. Did Degrassi expect us to root for them? Like maybe if they were hot or Manny or was in to Mr. O? Maybe Mr. O and Danny or something? Paige is........often wearing, like, a poncho? So..

Y'all are joking. This whole time I thought Kid Elrick was a fucking Rap God but turns out it's some Canadian Kid Rock and then you have the audacity to have Jimmy in the front row in his wheelchair rocking the fuck out like Kid Elrick has them JAWNS.

Literally, the Emma + Jay + the ravine = gonorrhea storyline is #iconic, but also some of the grossest shit I have ever seen. Jay is literally sewer trash like the fact that Em didn't catch the Bubonic plague is a testament to this show's general shitassery. I thought Degrassi "goes there". Lies! You're only slightly about that life.

aw :'( Wait but why does Degrassi just paralyze my prince and he still is irrelevant like literally they just chuck him away to the hospital and that's it mostly. They give Jimmy ONE good scene post-shooting, and that's his gym scene with Spinner, but I lowkey feel that was supposed to set up future Spin storylines, not give Jimmy more characterization while furthering his personal plot and I'm just honestly so annoyed.

When Jimmy yolked up Spinner!!! A king! I hate this show and I hate Spinner I will never care about him and I don't know why his dumpy ass has any fans.

Spinner with the single mom cut. How is he a fan fave? I'm sickened. And in what world would Jimmy continue to be friends with this loser? Jimmy is so superior to him it's just not realistic that by Junior Year Jimmy wouldn't have glowed up to a better friend group. So dumb.

Iconic. Mostly I drag Degrassi because it's a mess, but the Rick storyline was amazing. For Degrassi standards anyway. Especially Ephraim Ellis - like, he absolutely killed. From the minute he was intro'd last season he gave me the chills and the creeps. That's how you do it!! Like I lowkey wished they would have teased this out a bit longer just to get more creepy scenes from him, but at the same time I could barely tolerate the ones they gave us. Just watching the entire ticking time bombness of the episodes leading up to the shooting was too much, like I was sick. I also love the Carrie reference and how they show Rick's ~humanity~ so we as an audience lowkey feel bad for him, eventho he put our plus-size queen Terri in a coma and talks like a douche.

Honestly. I'm gonna be controversial and brave, but: I lowkey ship Jimmy and Rick. As fronds. In an alter-verse, maybe. But omg when Rick's PSYCHOTIC behind was telling his mom that Jimmy was his friend, I legit felt so bad for him because you could tell it was a true desire and he was so hype :( Omg this whole storyline just gets to me, please.

Hazel literally had less storyline in this season than any other season including season 1? When she had like one line :) HOW is Hazel the girlfriend of the victim of the school shooting and we never even see her visit him? This show is racist and trash!!

The Rick + Toby storyline made me cringe. They were literally rating girls. NOT how you get us to care about either of them, Degrassi. But I lowkey am pleased because I can't stand Toby and I get some sick pleasure out of seeing them destroy what little characterization he had, so. Idk.

Also, can we talk about the regular Degrassi background extras. There's this^ guy, there's this one lightskin? chick, there's this kind of tall black guy...those are the main ones I see lol. How do you keep regular extras? Do they have contracts? I'm always looking at extras in stuff lol half the time they occupy my attention more than the main storyline, because honestly if you think I care about Chester or Darcy or Chantay or most of the rest of these bitches, you are truly delusional and I feel so sorry for you.

Emma getting involved in the Rick situation truly was the catalyst for everything that went down this season. I honestly can't stand her, and this season she is truly terrible. She deserves her fate of being married to Spinner.

When Em tried to get in the way of Lib + Chris because she didn't want an ex of hers dating Liberty?????? She's sick and her glow-up isn't as lit as she thinks it is if all she can land in the end is the likes of gutter trash Spinner. But anyway I hope this is the last season with Chris because I don't know wtf his accent is. Why does he sound like a chav from UK? Is he not Canadian? Idk all the Canadian accents, but the regular white one is bad enough - he gotta go!
